Howie
President & GM
bio & commitment
Howie, started his business career in 1986 by founding a residential & commercial property maintenance company. He became President & GM of InspekTech® in 2010.
He has physically worked, and managed, exterior property maintenance projects on every imaginable type of house, as well as on small and large commercial buildings, condo and town house complexes, office buildings, and high-rises (including the use of swing stage and boom lift equipment, etc). Howie has conducted both residential and commercial Field work for appraisals and risk assessments and overseen thousands of consulting assignments at InspekTech® within the silos of Field operations and insurance to value (ITV) analysis. Howie has established team workflows and administration channels within InspekTech®, developed and helped steer extensive internal IT projects, and overseen reporting leading to client deliverables across all InspekTech® service and product types.
He's a business/economics graduate of Trinity Western University (BA) and the Master of Business Administration program in Executive Management (MBA) at Royal Roads University, and is an accredited Canadian Personal Property Appraiser (CPPA, Member: 112110). Howie is married with 4 grown children and 4 grandkids, attends a Reformed Baptist church, enjoys spending time with family & friends, and loves the outdoors, hockey, and aviation.

Ravi
Senior PL & Commercial Risk Analyst
bio
Ravi oversees the approval, authorization, and component cost analysis support of the final Replacement Values and reporting, including risk and/or risk assessments, on InspekTech® Commercial files. He is also involved in conducting Field training of all sorts including ITV analysis (for both Commercial and Residential files). He joined InspekTech® in 2020 for a significant duration, then a period of time off and travel, becoming our Senior PL & Commercial Risk Analyst in 2025.
Ravi has worked across Canada and the USA doing risk control and management inspections for most major insurance companies. Notable insurance projects for Ravi are: The CN Tower, The Bow (skysraper) Building, and the Calgary Airport Addition-Course of Construction. These projects are among thousands of other assignments, small and large, across Canada and the USA, for Residential & Commercial appraisals and risk assessments.
His formal education is in Civil Engineering (University of Toronto) and the School of Loss Control Tech operated by IAO (now called RMS School of Loss Control).
Timur
Field Inspector
bio
Timur came to InspekTech® following the completion of a BA degree in Human Geography with a minor in Urban Studies from UBC. His experience in academic research, combined with strong analytical skills and attention to detail, provided him a strong baseline to posture his career as a Field Inspector with InspekTech®.
Timur is an avid chess player and tournament attender, captain of a chess club, and the Winner of the 2022 Grand Pacific Open Chess Tournament (U1700 section).
Timur's observational Field work for both Residential and Commercial Field work is overseen by internal ITV Analysts and/or Senior Managers at the report deliverable level.
Walter
Field Inspector
bio
Prior to joining InspekTech® Walter was a Construction Project Manager. In this role for many years, he came to InspekTech well-versed in detailing building work, inspections, and running estimates.
His background also included working with engineers and local governing bodies, weekly project reporting, blueprint reviewing, and final-post constuction inspections. This made Walter a perfect fit for InspekTech when he joined us in 2019. Since then he has conducted many on-site inspections in the BC Lower Mainland.
Walter's observational Field work is excellent and is overseen by internal ITV Analysts and/or Senior Managers at the report deliverable level.
Harley
Field Inspector
bio
Prior to joining InspekTech® Harley was a store manager at a construction tools store. He was also a long-term Manager at one of Canada's largest retail warehouses and did subcontract work in the home construction industry connected with a family business.
In addition to being on the InspekTech® Field Inspector team, Harley operates and manages his own rental properties and has taken numerous college level courses in business administration.
Harley's observational Field work is overseen by internal ITV Analysts and/or Senior Managers at the report deliverable level.
Jonathan
Director, Operations

Jonathan started working with InspekTech® in 2013. Today, as our Director of Operations, his areas of concentration are related to InspekTech "global" operations, report risk analysis & workflow / content, and IT security/operations.
Over the years, Jonathan has done a significant amount of IT development work on the current InspekTech® portal, the InspekTech Managment System (iMS), and on InspekField™ our proprietary Field APP for our site and office teams.
Jonathan's focus area is geared to ensuring business objectives are fully aligned to the interweave of all team operations. He manages this while ensuring daily operational activity is functioning efficiently across our entire business workflows. This includes hands-on management and oversight of our Field operations, ITV risk analysis and QA, and report deliverables to our valuable clients.
Jonathan holds a BCIS degree in Computer Information Systems with a Business minor. He is married with 4 children, enjoys the outdoors, and is active in his local church.
Andy
Field & Client Manager

Andy joined InspekTech® in 2004 with his career history includes that of an insurance professional and a seasoned InspekTech Field Inspector.
His experience in insurance appraisals and risk management, having conducted many site inspections with InspekTech®, helps him coordinate with our Field & Office, and our Clients marvellously.
Andy also serves as an Insurance to Value Analyst (ITVA) while also overseeing file management on a daily basis, ensuring smooth client work flows in concert to InspekTech Field & Office operations.
Nerissa
Assistant Data/Report Editor

Nerissa is an accomplished Writer, Copy Editor, and Proofreader, also having extensive experience in research & journalism.
She plays an important role in assisting Riya and Management in our Report Building process, compiling data and report components, and ensuring final report deliverables meet consistently high output standards for our clients.
Nerissa is a graduate of the Toronto Film School (Associate's Degree, Screenwriting for Film & TV) as well as Durham College (Associate's Degree, Business Marketing).
Blair
Field Inspector
bio
Blair came to InspekTech® with a background in drafting & construction. He trained in Mapping & Cartography graduating from BCIT with a certificate in Survey & Photogrammetry (i.e. the science of extracting info, often in 3D, from physical objects) working in this field for 24 years.
He has conducted many site inspections since joining InspekTech in 2011 and does both residential and commercial appraisal-related work and risk assesmments.
Blair's observational on-site work and Field detail is exceptional and is overseen by internal ITV Analysts and/or Senior Managers at the report deliverable level.
Scott
Field Inspector
bio
Originally trained as a documentary photographer and having significant customer service experience, Scott has been happily working for InspekTech® since 2004.
Scott's main area of Field inspections has been in the Greater Vancouver area. Over the years and from time to time as Scott explained InspekTech's propritary program If Only We Had Known, he has helped home owners and insurance companies realize subject properties were either under-insured or even sometimes over-insured.
Scott speaks/writes Cantonese & Mandarin and can write in traditional Chinese and also speaks moderate Portuguese, all useful on the Field!
His observational site work is rooted in many years of Field experience and is overseen by internal ITV Analysts and/or Senior Managers at the report deliverable level.
Carl
Senior Field Inspector
bio
Carl joined InspekTech® in 2017 having prior owned and operated a successful insurance brokerage, which he sold to a well-known Western Canadian insurance company.
His insurance brokerage handled Residential and Commercial insurance files of all kinds, among other forms of insurance. As a qualified insurance professional and InspekTech Field Inspector, Carl is expert with respect to a broad range of insurance and risk management matters. He holds the CIAB and the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designations.
As a Field Inspector, Carl conducts both Residential and Commercial on-site inspections throughout British Columbia, doing so in a highly professional, experienced, and very personable way.
Shaun
Senior Field Inspector & Trainer

Prior to joining InspekTech® in 2013, Shaun was an insurance broker for 10 years earning the CAIB designation and having completed over 1/2 of the CIP courses.
As an insurance broker, Shaun conducted ongoing risk assessments and shopped hard to place home risks while interacting with a wide-range of clients, making him an ideal candidate for InspekTech work.
Shaun is now one of our Senior Field Inspectors, an ITV Analyst, and Field Trainer. His Field and analyical skills in the Office are top-grade.
Shaun's InspekTech Field work has taken him to many parts of BC and into Alberta where he conducts Residential and Commercial appraisals and risk assessments.
Riya
Reports Manager

Riya has been working in report building since joining InspekTech® in 2018. She became the InspekTech Reports Manager about 2 years after joining us when it became clear she was performing exceptionally well in the administrative and managerial tasks connected to report building.
Her important role is to compile report components, and direct others accordingly when required, through a 'tried and proven' workflow of checks and double checks.
Riya is often the one to "close a file" meaning she usually oversees the last step in our report workflow (or directs others accordingly), all which is designed to ensure uniform accuracy to the final client deliverable.
Ken
Field Inspector

Prior to joining InspekTech® Ken worked as an Office Manager/bookeeper for a Contracting Company hwere he was involved in construction related building projects, estimating, budgeting, the permit process, and overseeing and coordinating engineers, architects, and trades. He also has experience in HR, various business management roles, and costing and logistics administration.
Ken holds an Accounting and Business Technology Diplima (Honours). Ken's observational Field work is overseen by internal ITV Analysts and/or Senior Managers at the report deliverable level.
Gordon
Field Inspector
bio
Gordon joined InspekTech® in 2006 and has done many site inspections, primarily in the BC Lower Mainland.
As a seasoned Field Inspector he has inspected complex high value homes and heritage risks as well as commercial properties, among other classes of buildings.
Gordon has a good understanding of the Cantonese language and holds an Associate degree in Business Management.
Gordon's observational on-site work and Field detail is stellar and is overseen by internal ITV Analysts and/or Senior Managers at the report deliverable level.

Andrew
Senior Field Inspector
Andrew joined InspekTech® from 2007 until 2010 and then again in 2018 through until 2024, spanning approxiately 10 years of exceptional service.
Andy conducted InspekTech® on-site commercial and residential appraisal and inspection Field work throughout BC including the Okanagan / Interior, the Kootenays and the BC Lower Mainland.
His background included roles with the BC Assessment Authority covering over 20,000 properities throughout BC, often as a Supervisor.
Andrew's certificates were from the BC Association of Assessors and the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC).
Norman
Senior Field Inspector
Norman joined InspekTech® in 2007 and was a Senior Field Inspector until 2022 with 15 years of exceptional service.
He had extensive experience in all aspects of property, casualty, marine and aviation insurance, making him an idea InspekTech® FI. Prior to joining Inspektech® Norman worked as a Senior Casualty Broker and VP of Special Risks involved in underwriting policy preparation, and reinsurance negotiation with Lloyds of London and loss settlements.
Norman's professionals designations were the CRM and CCIB alongside other accomplishments in risk management and insurance loss control.
Ian
VP, Senior Risk Manager
Ian joined InspekTech® in 2006 and was our VP, Senior Risk Manager until 2025 with almost 20 years of outstanding service.
Ian's engineering background (Dip. E.Eng) included 25+years in construction, project & property management (licensed Property Manager, UBC) and insurance valuation & loss control as an accredited Canadian Personal Property Appraiser. In addition to ITV analysis and risk reviews of thousands of assignments, Ian had appraised or inspected 2,000+ residential and 5,000+ commercial properties of all types and sizes in BC and throughout Canada. Ian loved to impart his rich depth of knowledge to the whole InspekTech® team regularly (and to our clients), doing so with patience, humility, and kindness.
Ian's positive and wide influence at our firm ran deep for over 19 years. His presence and skills helped shape what InspekTech® is today! As we continues to grow, we are indebted to Ian's innumerable contributions which have left a lasting mark of excellence at InspekTech®.
